  • Application Description

With the program SC-123PU you get a powerful and freely available scientific calculator for the Palm platform. Apart from scientific functions it also offers a full set of logical operations and conversions between different numeric systems (HEX, DEC, OCT, BIN). Additionally the calculator offers a units mode for easy conversions between different units including currencies, as well as calculations with mixed units.
The program is designed in a way, that it simulates the visual and operational aspects of a true calculator, such that the user will be immediately familiar with its interface.

The calculator program automatically adapts to single and multi color devices. High resolution displays of SONY Clié devices and devices with Palm Operating System 5 and higher are automatically detected and supported. On Devices with dynamic input area the program can use the bigger display size when the input area is hidden.

The model SC-123PU brings the following new features:

    • A complete new calculation engine which uses decimal arithmetic in contrast to binary floating point artithmetic of the MathLib. This gives more accuracy up to 20 digits.
    • Support of devices with dynamic input area.
    • Support of 64 bit wide numbers in LOGIC mode.
    • Special Treo 600/650 keyboard support.
    • Should now work better with programs modifying the palm font mapping (for example to support asian and east european fonts).

Available in three different languages: English, German and Esperanto.

My favorite calulator, and for the simplest of reasons: it allows calculations with a constant just like the cheapest of handheld calculators. E.g.: when multiplying many figures by the same number, you only have to enter the second number and = to get the result. The same for the other arithmetic ops. And the rest of the calculator is top-rate as well. Great job!!
